"Ford Australia was the first company to produce a coupe utility as a result of a 1932 letter from the wife of a farmer in Victoria, Australia asking for "a vehicle to go to church in on a Sunday and which can carry our pigs to market on Mondays". Ford designer Lew Bandt developed a suitable solution, and the first coup utility model was released in 1934. Bandt went on to manage Ford's Advanced Design Department, being responsible for the body engineering of the XP, XT, XW, and XA series Ford Falcon utilities.
The mid-1955 introduction of Chevrolet's Cameo Carrier pickup truck helped pave the way for the El Camino. Although it was a model variant of Chevrolet's Task Force light-duty pickup, the Cameo offered an array of car-like features that included passenger-car styling, fiberglass rear fenders, two-tone paint, a relatively luxurious interior, as well as an optional V8 engine, automatic transmission, and power assists. 
Other pickup truck producers, including Dodge, Ford, Studebaker, and International, began to offer flush-side cargo boxes on some of their 1957 models, such as the Dodge C Series, and the Studebaker E-series Deluxe. However, Ford also introduced the 1957 Ranchero, and established a new market segment in the U.S. market of an automobile platform based coup utility. In 1959, Chevrolet responded with the El Camino to compete with Ford's full-sized Ranchero."

Pure Eye Candy. 1972 Candy Green Metallic, Chevrolet Custom Deluxe, C-10, 3-door Suburban,  factory optioned with the rare "Special Promotion Highlander Package" with Scottish Plaid seat inserts, now upgraded with newer black leather interior with green, black and white, Highlander Plaid interior inserts.  Making this grocery getter even more rare, it is powered by its original 402 big block engine, that has been rebuilt with approximately 7000 miles paired with a Turbo-400 heavy duty 3-speed automatic transmission. When ordered new this Suburban was heavily optioned with power steering, power front disc brakes, functional AC in the front and rear, Comfort Tilt steering, tinted glass, gauges, body side moldings, front and rear chrome bumpers, below eye line mirrors, stabilizer bars and heavy duty suspension. A very rare find. One family owned, shimmering Sky Blue 1979 Datsun 280ZX  with dark blue interior and  27,385 actual miles. This stunning Jaguar has under gone an extensive restoration with beautiful Carmen Red exterior, newer black leather bucket seat interior, restored dash with Smith gauges, newer black Hartz soft top and rare matching red hard top. The trunk is detailed and houses the full size chrome wire wheel and spare tire as well as the jack, tools and newer correct bag. Paperwork includes manuals, mechanical receipts spanning many years, older photos and Jaguar Cub Of North America judging sheets where it scored 971.80 points out of a possible 1000. The undercarriage is just as beautiful with newer stainless exhaust and great attention to detail. According to Enzo Ferrari the Series 1 XKE roadster is the most beautiful car ever made and this one is rolling on newer chrome wire wheels and redlines that match the car perfectly.

This Carmen Red 1956 Jaguar XK140 MC roadster benefited from an extensive nut and bolt restoration and was the centerpiece of the previous owners collection of rare classic cars. The XK140 MC was the most desirable higher performance model with more horsepower and features dual exhaust, overdrive, fog lights, J headlights. This European masterpiece on four wheels was restored a few years ago with documented restoration records and  has only been driven 302, babied miles before we acquired the car. The previous owner did not want to sell this rare British sports car, but unfortunately had a terminal illness and is no longer with us.  The black leather interior received new new black hides on the seats and was topped off with a high quality black Haartz soft top and has side curtains stored behind the seats.  The higher performance MC designated engine and transmission was rebuilt  at the time of the restoration. The six cylinder MC engine was more powerful, had a different cylinder head, larger valves and has dual exhaust instead of a single manifold to handle the additional performance.  The Jaguar XK140 MC has and 4-speed manual transmission with overdrive to be more freeway friendly. The car was painted in correct Carmen red single stage paint and shows well jeweled in a mix of newer chrome and stainless and well preserved original trim that was polished to a show quality finish.  When we bought the Jaguar it came with painted spoke wheels and older tires that were not safe for the road. We purchased brand new chrome spoke wheels and brand new wide white radial to give this Jaguar the curb appeal that it deserved.

This black 1961 XK150SE Drophead Coupe convertible is one of only 79 built in 1961,  the final year of production and only a handful of cars were factory optioned with 3.8 liter SE engine a numbers matching 3.8 liter engine.
