This is a true Super Sport SS 396 with build sheet and Muncie 4 speed transmission. It is virtually a time capsule car, with 56,034 actual miles on it according to the previous owner and the incredible metal structure of the floor, frame and body of the car we believe it to be true . There are letters from the state of Minnesota Dept. of Public Safety dated August 27th 1992, certifying at the time the vehicle had 51454 miles on it. This true SS is validated by the original build sheet. This car was bought and used as a drag car which explains the low miles. The original motor was blown up in the 1970's and was exchanged for a date coded 1969 396 motor.The car has a rock crusher M22 4-speed transmission, 12 bolt, posi-traction rear end. In the 80's the car was repainted with single staged lacquer paint that has held up well over the years. The door jams as well as the underside of the trunk lid were not repainted and have the original paint. The underside of the trunk lid still has the original jack instructions as well as the rear posi traction decal. The engine has the original air cleaner emblem. This car was born a 396/375 horse car. The car has never been taken apart. Fenders and doors have never been off the car. The interior is believed to be original and is in amazing condition.
